When I was a kid, I remember the funeral director at my church giving me a piece of paper that gave me a list of rules I had to abide by in order to live a better life.
That’s a good list. But the funeral director wasn’t the only one giving that list. We were.
This year, the Broward County Medical Examiner’s office is hosting a “crying for your life” event. This weekend, people across the state will be dying and we all need to come and hold our own funeral. All the details will be announced at a later date.
This is a really cool event. The Medical Examiners have a lot of medical professionals that are coming and the idea is to take part in a community process of healing visit this site. The idea isn’t just to just look at the person’s medical history and decide them dead or alive, but instead to try and come up with a way to help them come back to life. I’m not sure if it is the perfect solution to the problem of death, but it sure feels good.
For those who want to take part, the medical examiners are coming from all over the country and the first event will be in Chicago on October 17th. The event is being hosted by the National Medical Examiner Association and they are asking for people to come forward, so if you have anyone you know or someone you are thinking of taking part in this event, please send them an email with the details.
